Hello! If you've been reading Confessions of a Dilettante for any length of time, you'll notice it has a new look. It was high time. Welcome back! If you are new here, Hi! I'm so glad you found this little pink piece of the internet.
Along with the new look, I am making some changes to the format of how I will be posting and wanted to outline it all here for you for consistency purposes (scary words to a dilettante's ears) Here is what you can expect in the future, and I am just so excited to share it all with you. I am the worst surprise-keeper and it has been so hard for me to stay silent about all of this while it's been in the works!
1. MONTHLY GIVEAWAY!
I love contests and who doesn't like free stuff?! Soooooo, on the first Friday of every month I will be hosting a giveaway. What better way to start a weekend?! The prizes will vary from month to month, but they will always be free and I will ship them directly to you if you win! This month I am giving away a $50 Amazon gift card. I feel like a teeny tiny Oprah. ;)

2. WEEKLY RECIPE
For those of you who have been reading for a while, or if you popped into the About page, you know I have a background in cooking (among many other things = DILETTANTE). You probably also know that I follow a mostly Paleo diet due to health issues (which I remain mainly symptom-free from when I follow it). So over the years while on this journey to better, natural health, I have developed some really delicious recipes that I can't wait to share with you. Every Monday I will share a new recipe, and along with it I will include a printable version of the recipe that you can download or save. Most of the recipes will be paleo or Whole30 friendly, some will be primal (allowing for some grass-fed dairy sources) as dairy doesn't upset me, and all of them will be gluten free! If you have any requests, please let me know, I'd be happy to work on them!
3. MONTHLY DIY/DESIGN PROJECT
If we are friends on social media you know thatI love a craft or DIY project! I always have about seven different projects going on at once. Once upon a time, I had an online shop that sold vintage and antique pieces of furniture that I had painted and given new life to along with vintage clothing that I would find during my many Treasure Hunts. In addition to that I worked with my father who is an artist and furniture designer when he had a furniture manufacturing company. I assisted in textile selections, design and marketing and he usually let me design his showroom layout. We spent many weeks in High Point, NC. These days, I mainly just create and decorate to pass the time and keep me out of Home Goods, That place is DANGEROUS! So, for now, I will post (at least) one DIY/design project a month. I'll show you before and after pics and outline the products and process I used to attain the final look.
4. PIECES OF MY HEART
In the course of the decade that I've been writing on Confessions, I have bared my heart and soul, you have been with me through pregnancy and child-birth, illness, death and international moves. In that time, I have changed so much, I daresay I've grown up a little! But, with all the change, one thing will forever remain constant. My love of the human connection. I value the real and true and honest heart to heart moments more than a brand new pair of diamond earrings. In the end, outside of our relationship with God, it's all that will remain. I said recently that People are my love language. And I meant that. So I'll keep doing that, whenever the muse or the strings of the heart strike me. I'll share the real and true. The forever that you can't hold. The everyday moments and miracles that impress themselves deeply upon your heart. I'll keep doing that. Always.
